Mini First Aid Trainer for Devon and a busy mum of 3 young boys. Working as cabin crew for 13 years meant being First Aid trained to the highest standard, Liz could deal with anything from choking, childbirth to cardiac arrest.
Recently attended a mini first aid course in Kingskerwell. Liz was amazing, the pace was great, the information was informative, and the demonstrations were easy to follow. It was great seeing other mums there with their babies too! Liz made me and my baby girl feel very welcome and I came away from the session feeling confident.
Phillipa RichardsonWith a 16 week old baby, I have been worried about what I would do should anything happen. What if my baby choked when I started weaning him or how would I perform CPR on such a small body if required? I know there is plenty of info on the Internet but seeing a live demonstration and being able to practice what we learnt under Liz’s watchful eye definitely made me feel more confident about what I needed to do in an emergency. The course was nicely paced and Liz was warm and welcoming with a friendly and levelled approach. With years of experience giving first aid in a highly stressful environment, as well as being a mum herself, Liz filled me with confidence whilst putting me at ease. She was happy for people to learn at their own pace and be as involved in the demonstrations as they wanted to be. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone with young children.
Helen Tapley SewellWould highly recommend this to anyone, the class was so informative and clear. I pray I’m never in the situation to use baby/child first aid, but if I am I now feel very confident. Liz was so friendly and answered all our questions. Thank you so much I feel so much more confident with my baby now.
Natalie JayneLiz ran a fantastic class today! Very informative and educational. I left feeling a lot more confident that I can put the skills she taught to use if ever required! It was great that I could bring my 14 week old baby and welcomed to breastfeed him. I’d highly recommend these classes!
Jen McMahonThe [Mini First Aid] course was wonderful – truly something that all parents should do.
Harriet Shearsmith - Award Winning Blogger, Toby & RooI’d definitely recommend this excellent course, which provided lots of information with take away booklets to refer back to. Liz was a great teacher, made everyone feel very welcome and at ease especially with COVID guidelines. I would feel much more confident dealing with an emergency or first aid now. The first aid packs are great too ?? Thanks very much ☺️
Lucy ClaireAs a first time Mum I was really worried about anything happening to my little one. Liz was a fantastic trainer and really put me at ease that things can happen and what to do in those situations. She covered a range of Injuries from things you hope will never happen such as CPR to bee stings and burns. I would recommend this session to all parents and hope one day they make it part of the maternity care we all receive.
Charlotte GobelBionical have been working with Mini First Aid since 2022, and we couldn't be happier with the relationship. Following expansion and a global pandemic, we were looking for a way to maintain the highest standards of compliance in training for our nursing staff across the UK, whilst maximising efficiency of delivery. It has been lovely working with Mini First Aid who have supported Bionical to maintain compliance and service excellence, whilst being a completely stress-free process. Thank you to both the Head Office administrative team, as well as all your franchisees and trainers.
Bionical Solutions"I learned so much from the Mini First Aid adult awareness class. I feel confident about what to do in a range of first aid situations or emergencies. For the first time, I’ve seen images of what burns look like on black and brown as well as white skin. I know what signs to look for if a child is choking, as these can look different, depending on your skin colour. Thanks Mini First Aid for making your classes relevant to everyone".
Gwen LynchLiz delivered the course in an easy to understand and practical way, whilst using realistic scenarios. It was clear that all the parents who attended felt more confident and well equipped for handling any future first aid incidents with their little ones. Considering covid measures, Liz was still able to deliver a ‘hands on’ course whilst adhering to rules which did not seem to hinder the learning experience. Parents were offered time to practice the skills learnt and Liz demonstrated when this was not possible. A recommended course for any parent or child carer. Many Thanks.
Jackie WellsBrilliant course in the comfort of your own home taught excellently by Liz. It’s so important to know first aid for anyone especially your own kids and now we feel confident to do so.
Alex RogersI recently attended one of these classes, Liz was great at making us feel safe and covid secure at all times. I decided to take the class as my little boy has recently been prescribed an epi pen for allergies and I wanted to know how to do cpr in case I needed to administer it - I was so scared that I wouldn't be able to do this if needed but I am now confident I can save my sons life should I need to, all thanks to Liz and her teaching techniques. I am also expecting my second child and found the class was great for learning about other first aid things that could arise. I wish I had done the course when my little boy was a new born. Highly recommend this course for anyone caring for a baby or child. Thanks Liz
Danni WebbLiz’s first aid class is really informative and super relaxed. I learnt lots about how to keep my baby safe and what to do if the unimaginable happens. I was able to take Fred (8 months) with me, feed him and let him play during the class, which took a huge weight off my shoulders trying to find a baby sitter. We booked a private class with friends and family, we felt really safe as a Liz was prepared with hand sanitizer, face shield and had made sure the room was set out in a way to aid social distancing. We could ask questions throughout and practise the techniques, whilst being safe. Liz was really personable, knowledgeable and I would highly recommend her and her class. Thanks Liz! ?
Abbie HughesSky are always looking for ways to better support their staff and Parents@Sky Network offers support and benefits to staff who are parents. I came across Mini First Aid through a Facebook promotion and there was a huge demand for the Infant and Child First Aid class which was shared on our internal and external social channels. The communication and organisation of the event was excellent - Sarah-Lou was professional, engaging and even injected some parent style humour! The class was interactive and educational - everyone took something away from it including much more confidence in dealing with any emergencies which could arise with their little ones. The feedback received on the back of it was amazing! It was a great success and hopefully something we can do again, and potentially roll out to other sites in the UK. Thank you Mini First Aid, you were a pleasure to deal with!
Lisa Cummings, SkyI attended the 2hr class today and would highly recommend. Super informative, in a relaxed and ‘covid safe’ environment! Liz was professional, welcoming and such a knowledgeable teacher. I felt able to ask any questions and have come away more confident and reassured. Thank you!
Becky BrayMini First Aid really are the best for all your first aid needs! I found the company online through researching baby first aid products and the reviews were so great that I had to buy and try, and I was so impressed! The first aid kits really are so extensive! I want to say a huge thank you to Angie from Mini First Aid for coming to our home to teach my family and I baby first aid! I had some basic knowledge but it didn’t compare to the hands on approach in our class where we got to practice techniques. Angie was incredible and so patient with us, and the lesson was invaluable to us as new parents!
Kamille: Grammy-winning singer-songwriterI recently attended a class run by Liz for new mums. It was an excellent class where I learnt a lot in a safe face to face environment. As a bonus we could take our babies with us. I am recommending Liz to everyone now ?
Jade Lucy KentI had a lovely experience with liz, I have gained a huge amount of knowledge from liz’s class! She is very professional and patient! I would highly recommend!!
Roz Ella FarnsworthMy husband and I both attended the course yesterday and highly recommend it! We feel so much happier starting baby led weaning now that we know what to do it the case of choking. The CPR and other basic first aid taught is invaluable and Liz explained everything clearly. Thank you Liz! ☀️
Jordanna GouldsmithA great course covering all the essential information you need to know as a parent. I left feeling more confident I’d know what to do if anything should happen to my little one; burns, cuts, bumps, choking and God forbid CPR. A lovely friendly instructor too, delivered concisely. Thank you ?
Vicky GlanvilleWe had a private session booked with Liz and it was fantastic value for money, extremely relaxed and so very informative. I felt like I could ask any questions and came away with a huge knowledge of first aid which I previously did not have. Being able to take my baby with me and allowing him to play and eat throughout the course made me relax and took away the stress of having to find a babysitter in this current pandemic. I would recommend Liz and this course to any person, whether they would be looking after a little person or not as I feel this knowledge is so valuable for anyone.
Jenna KirbyWe have seen hundreds of clients go through the Infection Control Course and heard nothing but positive feedback. They were able to do everything in their own time and now have the ability to promote their certificate/badge to all current and future customers which has helped them secure both venues and new clients. I would highly recommend anyone that is running a children's activities business to complete this course.
George BentleyMini First Aid is a great fit for our brand and we have been delighted to partner with them on a number of initiatives. We offer our customers a Mini First Aid class when they sign up for a Junior ISA*. Empowering families through free first aid courses alongside our accessible Junior ISA product, we prioritise their well-being and financial security. Abi Jones - Head of Marketing and Sales at Unity MutualIt was a pleasure meeting Kate and Jacky from Mini First Aid and being taught what to do in case of an emergency. Learning CPR and what to do when a child is choking is invaluable. Obviously, I hope I never had to use the things I learned in today’s class, but horrible things happen and knowing these techniques can really make a huge difference. The class was fun and accessible given the seriousness of the topic. I would highly recommend everyone doing it.
Giovanna Fletcher - Author, Actress, Blogger & Mum!I attended a mini first aid course in Exeter a couple of weeks ago and it was the best decision I made. It taught us how to deal with all the situations you could think of that could happen to your little one. Liz was kind and patient with all our questions and answered them so well. Not only was it informative but she gave us scenarios and showed us how to do things correctly. Room was also very spaced out and covid safe. I bought a first aid kit at the end as well and carry it everywhere with me! Would highly recommend to any parent/grandparent or carer of a child! Worth every penny -thanks Liz for a great session! Xx
Anna VickeryWe have been working with Mini First Aid since 2017 on various platforms. Most recently, we ran a highly successful campaign with a 3 pronged approach - the first was to educate more parents about sensitive skin via a Mini First Aid blog, newsletter feature and podcast, the second was to team up on a brand awareness competition via social media, and the third was to reach a wider audience by giving out free Childs Farm samples to hundreds of parents whilst they were learning life-saving first aid. It was a great way to reach our target audience with a multichannel approach.
Childs FarmThere are a gazillion things I never seem to get around to doing (fixing the broken blind in our bedroom, getting some photos printed of ‘the baby’ who is almost two but still doesn’t exist on our walls, pinning down the coffee date I’ve been promising my neglected friend via WhatsApp for at least 6 months…) BUT this morning I finally got my arse in gear and ticked off something from my ‘Really Must Do’ list by attending a First Aid class designed specifically for parents, grandparents and carers of babies and young children. It took just two hours out of my morning and covered a whole host of stuff including what to do if a child is choking, how to deal with burns/breaks/bleeding and the basics of life-saving CPR for kids.
The UnMumsy Mum - Sarah TurnerOne afternoon, we were enjoying a day out in the sunshine and had stopped to feed our daughter of 7 months, she’s just started solid food and we’d been giving her sliced banana to chew on. On this particular day, she inhaled a small piece and began to choke. I quickly remembered Martin’s words, put her in the proper hold, bottom in the air and one forceful strike between her shoulder blades dislodged the banana and although she was shocked, she was able to breathe again and I can’t tell you how relieved we felt! It may have only been 10 seconds in which she couldn’t breathe but it was terrifying. Had I not had the training from Martin and Mini First Aid, I cannot even begin to imagine how differently the situation could have turned out. In fact, I’d go as far to say that the training I received enabled me to save our daughter’s life.
Sam and baby NellHad a paediatric first aid course today. Liz was amazing! She kept the lesson fun but informative, was able to have a laugh, whilst delivering potentially life saving skills. I feel much more at ease into what to do in the event of something happening to my children. Money well spent. Thank you x
Megan ShearingGreat course and amazing to be able to fit all the information into two hours so i could fit it around my little one!
Shannon Louise"We are so glad we have done a Mini First Aid class. We enjoyed the class, found it really useful and feel so much more prepared in the build up to having our baby.”
Rugby hero Jonny Wilkinson & his wife ShelleyBrilliant baby first aid class led by liz. So glad I went- it was really informative, relaxed atmosphere and loved the little book we got to make notes. Doing any sort of class with a baby is slightly stressful as you never know how your little one will be, but liz made everyone feel completely at home and didn’t bat an eyelid when the babies cried.
Elly DickinsonCannot speak highly enough of Liz and the expertise she provides! Liz came to our home this week to privately teach my husband and I. Liz made this visit safe during covid providing props for us to use which were cleaned down and sanitiser was provided for us too. The coverage was so thorough, and Liz answered our many questions. Liz is so personable and the course was both informative and fun. An absolute MUST for any new parent. 5* all the way. ?
Georgia TaylorLiz Watt came to my home for the 2 hour session. A very professional and informative course which included my 10 year old son, who also found the course fun and educational, he felt confident that he would be able to respond in an emergency. A few days after the course my daughter burnt her hand on the oven. If I hadn’t attended the course I would not have known what to do for the best. When we went to hospital I was told that I had done everything correctly. That is all down to the wonderful course liz Watt offers at mini first aid. Any advice I could give to another parent would be to attend mini first aid to be prepared for accidents like mine.
Kate TappSt Joseph’s School, Wetherby (Early Years class) Our Nursery class love to get involved in whole-school curriculum enrichment activities but First Aid for 3-4 year olds? Even for our well-seasoned teachers, this sounded like a tall order. How wrong we were! Our sessions with Claire were absolutely brilliant. Skillful teaching, great resources, clear messages and important safety information; empowering our children to feel like mini first aiders. With the help of Max the teddy, we learned simple first aid techniques for cuts, scrapes and head bumps; as well as learning how to make someone comfortable by lying them on their side if they are very poorly. We learned about how you may need to phone 999 in an emergency and that you need to know your address. The children absolutely loved The ‘Mini Adventures of Freddie’ story which brought everything together perfectly. Thank-you Claire. Never underestimate 3-4 year olds! They really can save lives!
Louise Milivojevic, Head Teacher, St Joseph's SchoolThe Mini First Aid Class (filmed for ITVBe) was a fantastic class, both Arg and I found it a really good and informative session
Ferne McCann. TV Star & Blogger.Liz was first class. Her relaxed, friendly manner made it very informative and useful despite the serious topics. She is a credit to her organisation. Highly recommended
Scott KentI cannot recommend Mini First Aid enough. Kate ran a private class for me and my 11 year old daughter in the comfort of our own home, which was perfect especially as my babies are due any day now. My daughter and I feel much more confident in knowing what to do in a range of emergency situations and I also got some extra twin tips from Kate as a fellow twin Mum! It's such an important life skill that every parent and carer should have so I would urge you to book a Mini First Aid course today.
Lucy Pargeter - EmmerdaleHighly recommend doing this course with Liz. It’s perfect for expectant parents, new parents, and people like me (I have a toddler & a 4 year old). Such an informative session, Liz was brilliant - very welcoming, knowledgable and made us feel we could ask any question! I shall definitely be telling friends and family to book in if they haven’t done a first aid course before or if they would like a refresher. Thank you!
Sophie AmbridgeA brilliant use of 2 hours. We learnt no much about first aid for our babies. Liz came to our house which was really convenient, the babies were allowed in the session which meant it was easy to schedule too. Liz was really friendly and knowledgeable, lots of real life examples which make it easier to remember. I would highly recommend to anyone pregnant or involved in caring for a little one. Thank you Liz!
Olivia HoptonThe safety of our customers and co-owners is a priority to the continued success of Go Ape. Being a high-risk activity, we naturally want to ensure our teams our skilled to deal with any issues that may occur in our forest environments, and to continue to provide outstanding customer care. We are pleased to announce that we are working with award winners and industry leaders, Mini First Aid, who will be providing our Tribe with bespoke outdoor first aid training.
Luke Parker - Go Ape OperationsI attended the course at Hydro Hub in Newton Abbot the covid measures in place made me feel safe and the course was very informative and engaging. Compressions could still be done on mannequins and these were sterilised after each use. I would recommend mini first aid as a comprehensive overview on children’s first aid.
Chloe DaviesThis course is amazing! For only £25 to equip you with tools which could save a life is invaluable. Liz is super engaging and creates a safe space where you can really get what you want out of the course. 100% recommend!
Rhia ClemenceMy husband and I attended Liz’s workshop at the Baby Rooms in Exeter. The session was really well planned, clear and it made us both more confident to hear how to help our little one in a variety of emergency situations. Liz was very personable and no question was too silly! I would highly recommend this course if you are expecting / have a child of any age / work with children. Thanks Liz!
Ellis Serena RussellI did like 3 first aid courses before my first aid course with Liz but this one was much better. It was very informative and interesting and Liz is very professional and approachable. So if you haven't done a First aid course yet, I think you should book one with Liz. I highly recommend her. ?
Patricia Rojas VivasOur facilator, Liz Watt was totally engaging for our year 6 children to listen and respond to. On a personal level, I have had many experiences of 1st Aid training throughout the years and yet I cannot recall being told how to cut a bra off before using a defibrillator or that skin turning blue is indicative of choking in a casualty with white skin so therefore being made aware of what the signs and symptoms are to look out for in black and minority ethnic patients. Liz ensured our pupils were aware of both of these elements as well other signs and symptoms to be aware of with different colour skin. This was very inclusive training which reflected the fact that the children grow up in a multicultural society and in a world where 50% of the population is female - Liz addressed this in an age-appropriate way, preparing the children for the reality of being first on the scene in a incident in an open, honest and practical way”.
Mrs Williams, Kingskerswell C of E Primary SchoolThis weekend myself and five mummy friends had a private Mini First Aid session from the comfort of my own home. Now I’ve done it I can’t believe I hadn’t done it sooner, what a no-brainer!! It’s a great feeling knowing that I’d know what to do should a situation arise. All in all, I can’t recommend it enough so get your session booked in now!”
Josie Barron, Mummy SocialLiz came to my house today to lead a first aid session for a group of first time mums. Liz was very professional and organised and explained everything to us in detail. Despite the subject matter being very serious the class was light hearted with lots of chatting and passing around of babies! I certainly feel much more confident to deal with any emergencies that may arise in the future. Thanks Liz – I will definitely be recommending you to other mums!
Gemma WillsHolly, our trainer was an excellent facilitator. The session was informative and enjoyable, and the class size made it feel accessible and easy for everyone to get stuck in. Holly's first-hand experience in the field, coupled with being a parent made the information really palatable and relatable. She made sure to have inclusive material which was perfect for the multicultural group we were in. I'd highly recommend the class if you want to arm yourself with the confidence to respond to a child in an emergency situation.
Jacqueline Shepherd and familyLiz, ran an excellent course well presented full of invaluable information. It was so useful to have a chance to practice CPR and procedure for choking on a both baby and child dummy. It was great to do this mini course as a family group. thanks Liz
Susan MillerLiz kindly ran a session for my dad, partner and I at home today and it was fantastic. Very informative but also enjoyable. My parents nagged me to do a first aid course whilst I was pregnant and dare I admit my ignorance but I questioned the need. With a now nearly 1 year old I decided to book one with my dad (grandad) and partner (dad) and wow, how wrong was I to question the need. I now think first aid training should be compulsory for anyone who has care of a child. I have learnt so much in 2 hours and whilst I hope most of the knowledge will never be required in real life, if it is, I will forever be grateful for Liz’s training. Thanks Liz 👍
Naomi GraceWe attended and really enjoyed the Mini First Aid course led by Liz (17/12/2022). It was great to have refresher on aspects (e.g. CPR) applicable to children and to learn about baby specific first aid. Liz was really knowledgeable, friendly, experienced and happy to answer any questions that came to mind. I would highly recommend to anyone with (or who looks after) a baby or child.
